Team/Teacher Requests:
Unfortunately we are not able to accept requests for your child to be placed with a specific teacher and/or on a team with his/her current friends.  If we opened that door we would be flooded, and with 1000+ students, there is no way we would ever be able to satisfy everyone's personal requests.  All middle school students want to be on a team with students they know.  They can have a lot of anxiety about this, and it is important that we, as the adults in their lives, model to them how to handle this type of situation and reassure them that it is going to be okay.
We have 4 teams in 7th grade with 532 students, and 4 teams in 8th grade with 467 students.  With those kinds of numbers, they are going to see some familiar faces on their own team.  Every year we have some tears at schedule pick-up, but it always works out.  They make new friends that they never would have known otherwise!  I've been doing this for 20+ years.  It always works out.  Also, our elective classes are not "teamed" so many students who are on a different team from some of their friends still see their friends during their elective classes.
As we get closer to schedule pick-up, please reassure your anxious middle schooler that it is all going to be okay!  ❤  If your child is begging you to email me with a personal request, please go ahead and explain why you will not be sending that email, and reassure your child that it is all going to work out for the best no matter what happens.
Required Athletic Physicals:
All athletes must have a current physical (dated after May 1st) in order to participate in any sport for the 2019-2020 school year.  All physicals are due to head coaches by the first day of practice.  If your child only participates in a winter or spring sport, physicals are due by September 1st to maintain eligibility for the year.  If you were unable to get your sport's Physical at the PAAC in May, the following options are available to you:
a. Your personal physician
b. McBride Clinic at Edmond and Broadway Ext - 405-230-9230 - Cost $25
c. Primary Health Partners NW - Cost $30 - 405-607-8855 ( A portion of this will go back to Deer Creek Schools.)
Questions?  Athletic Director Yohance Brown:
